I’m a Senior Strategic Industry & Market Research Analyst focussing on breakthrough innovations in the transport & mobility sectors.

I specialise in strategic quantitative / qualitative B2B research for private equity funds, individual investors, multi-national corporations, not-for-profit organisations, and M&A advisory firms around the world.

My work has been used for business opportunity assessments, pre-M&A target identification, strategic marketing projects, and much more.

Former clients include satellite component suppliers, aerospace & defence system integrators, environmental consultancies, automotive simulator manufacturers, commercial flight school owners and the occasional investment bank.

I’m currently a Senior Business Innovation Analyst at Connected Places Catapult, working on a variety of initiatives including Project Caelus, Project CReDo and the Advanced Mobility Ecosystem Consortium (AMEC) program.

Research & Analysis Philosophy

I don’t have one — by which I mean, I am concerned with the success of the project, not with the use of a particular workflow to deliver the end result.

Having said that, I always suggest that the basic methodological framework include the following elements:

  • Accurately define the goal of the project so that the correct strategy and relevant tactics can be identified.

  • Plan, plan and plan some more until all aspects of the project deliverables are agreed upon and understood.

  • Heavy stakeholder involvement at the beginning & the end, and “light touch” oversight in between.
